Zach Parise, born on July 28, 1984, played as a left winger in the NHL from 2005 to 2024 for the New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders, and Colorado Avalanche. In 2012, Parise served as captain of the New Jersey Devils during their run to the Stanley Cup Final. He was named an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Parise played midget AAA hockey for Shattuck-St. Mary's in Minnesota before attending the University of North Dakota. During the 2008–09 season, he scored 45 goals and recorded 94 points, finishing third in league goal scoring and fifth in overall points. He earned MVP honors in 2000 and 2001, and was named to the tournament All-Star Team both years. Parise began his NCAA career with the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux in the 2002–03 season.
