Xavier Legette Biography

Anthony Xavier Legette, born on January 29, 2001, is an American professional football wide receiver who has played in the National Football League. He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. As a senior, he recorded 1,826 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns, while also passing for 887 yards and 14 touchdowns. In his first four years at South Carolina, Legette played in 41 games with 17 starts, recording 42 receptions for 423 yards and five touchdowns. As a fifth-year senior in 2023, he became the team's number one receiver. Legette recorded 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns, with a career-best 217-yard performance against Jacksonville State. The Panthers traded their second round (33rd) and fifth round (141st) picks to the Buffalo Bills to move up one spot and select Legette with the 32nd overall pick, receiving the 200th overall pick in return.
