Wilmer Flores Biography

Wilmer Alejandro Flores García, born on August 6, 1991, is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder who has played for the Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican League. He has played in Major League Baseball for the New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Francisco Giants. On his 16th birthday in 2007, he signed as an international free agent with the New York Mets and made his major-league debut with them in 2013. Two of his brothers also named Wilmer Flores are involved in professional baseball, one of whom is a pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization. He played second base for the World team in the 2009 All-Star Futures Game. During the 2012 season, the Mets promoted him to the Binghamton Mets in the Double–A Eastern League. He began the 2013 season with the Las Vegas 51s, a Triple–A team in the Pacific Coast League.
