Willy Adames Biography

Willy Rafael Luna Adames, born on September 2, 1995, is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop who has played in Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers. Willy Adames began his MLB career with the Rays in 2018 and was transferred to the Brewers in 2021. After the 2024 season, Adames signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco Giants. Adames started the 2014 season with the West Michigan Whitecaps as part of his minor league development. On July 31, 2014, Willy Adames was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays along with Drew Smyly and Nick Franklin in a three-team deal that also sent Austin Jackson to the Seattle Mariners and David Price to the Detroit Tigers. In 2016, Adames was selected to represent the World Team in the All-Star Futures Game.
