Will Shields Biography

Will Shields, born on September 15, 1971, was an American professional football player who played as a guard in the National Football League for 14 seasons. He played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and earned consensus All-American honors while winning the Outland Trophy. Shields spent his entire 14-year professional career with the Kansas City Chiefs and never missed a game during that span. He was selected to 12 Pro Bowls, earned three First-Team All-Pro honors, and was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. Shields played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1989 through 1992 during his college football career. In 1999, he was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation College Football All Century Team. He was chosen 74th overall in the 1993 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs after signing with Chicago Bears president Kevin Warren as his agent.
