Wayne Rooney Biography

Wayne Mark Rooney, born on 24 October 1985, is an English former professional football player and manager. Rooney has recorded 200 goals and 100 assists in the Premier League, making him one of the greatest players in the competition's history. Rooney received recognition as FIFPro Young Player of the Year in 2004–05, was named to the ESM Team of the Season in 2009–10, and was selected for the 2011 FIFA FIFPro World XI. Rooney contributed to United's Premier League triumph in 2010–11 and secured his fifth league title during the 2012–13 season. He won 16 trophies during his time with Manchester United, becoming one of only two English players to win the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, League Cup, UEFA Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup. Rooney made his senior international debut for England in February 2003 at the age of 17 and is England's youngest-ever goalscorer. With 53 goals in 120 international appearances, he is England's third-most-capped player and held the record for most international goals until 2023.
