Wayne John Chrebet Jr. played 11 seasons as a wide receiver in the NFL, primarily with the New York Jets from 1995 to 2005. He played college football for the Hofstra Pride on Long Island. After high school, Chrebet stayed in the tri-state area to attend Hofstra University. Chrebet had a highly productive college football career at Hofstra. Hofstra has recognized Chrebet for his achievements during his time with the Pride. In his rookie season, he recorded 8 receptions during a game against the St. Louis Rams on December 3, 1995. The next season, he caught 12 passes for 162 yards in a game against Jacksonville on October 19, 1996.
