Vinny Testaverde Biography

Vincent Frank Testaverde Sr. was born on November 13, 1963, and played American football as a professional quarterback in the NFL for 21 seasons. He earned consensus All-American honors and won the Heisman Trophy in 1986 while playing college football for the Miami Hurricanes. Testaverde was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the first overall pick in the 1987 NFL draft. His professional career spanned 21 seasons, during which he played for seven different teams. He threw more than 20 interceptions in four seasons, including 35 during his second season with the Buccaneers. Testaverde was part of the University of Miami's quarterback dynasty and was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. In the 1989 season, he started all 14 games and passed for over 3,000 yards with 20 touchdowns.
