Viktor Hovland Biography

Viktor Hovland, born on 18 September 1997, is a Norwegian professional golfer who has competed on the PGA Tour and European Tour. He captured the 2018 U.S. Amateur title and achieved the number one ranking in the World Amateur Golf Ranking during 2019. Hovland made history as the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour, claiming victory at the 2020 Puerto Rico Open, and later on the European Tour with his win at the 2021 BMW International Open. He secured his first FedEx Cup by winning the 2023 Tour Championship, marking his eighth PGA Tour title. At age 16, Hovland claimed the Norwegian Amateur Golf Championship in 2014. He turned professional after the 2019 U.S. Open and made his debut at the Travelers Championship in June of that year. In September 2021, Hovland represented Europe in the Ryder Cup held at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.
