Usain Bolt Biography

Usain Bolt was born on 21 August 1986 and is a Jamaican retired sprinter. He is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and holds world records in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4 × 100 metres relay. Usain Bolt achieved the feat of winning both the 100 m and 200 m Olympic titles across the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Games. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Bolt gained worldwide fame by winning both sprint events in world-record times. An eleven-time World Champion, Bolt won gold in the 100 m, 200 m, and 4 × 100 m relay from 2009 to 2015, missing the 100 m title in 2011 due to a false start. His accomplishments have earned him the nickname Lightning Bolt and multiple honors including IAAF World Athlete of the Year and Laureus World Sportsman of the Year. Bolt won his first high school championship medal in 2001, taking silver in the 200 metres with a time of 22.04 seconds.
