Troy Polamalu Biography

Troy Polamalu, born April 19, 1981, played his entire 12-year NFL career as a safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020, his first year of eligibility, following an eight-time Pro Bowl and six-time All-Pro career. Polamalu earned consensus All-American honors in 2002 while playing college football for the USC Trojans. He was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2003 NFL draft after his collegiate career. Before college, he was named to the All-State first team and earned Offensive Most Valuable Player honors in the Far West League, helping Douglas High achieve a 9–1 record. Polamalu began his professional football career in the 2000 season, marking the start of his NFL journey. On December 23, 2003, he recorded a season-high six combined tackles in a 13–6 victory over the Cleveland Browns.
