Troy Glaus Biography

Troy Edward Glaus, born August 3, 1976, is an American former professional baseball player who played as a third baseman and first baseman. Troy Glaus played in MLB with the Anaheim Angels from 1998 to 2004, the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2005, the Toronto Blue Jays from 2006 to 2007, the St. Louis Cardinals from 2008 to 2009, and the Atlanta Braves in 2010. Over 13 seasons, he recorded a .254 batting average, 320 home runs, and 950 RBIs across 1537 games. He was selected to four All-Star Games, including three while with the Angels and one while playing for the Blue Jays. Glaus began his MLB career with the Angels in 1998 and became the team’s starting third baseman the following year, 1999. In 2001, he participated in the MLB All-Star Game and hit 41 home runs, marking his second straight season with 40 or more. In 2002 Troy Glaus hit thirty home runs, falling short of 40 for the first time since 1999, as the Angels reached the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.
