Tress Way Biography

Tressler William Way, born on April 18, 1990, is an American professional football punter who has played in the National Football League. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Way joined the Washington Commanders the following year and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2019, becoming the franchise's leader in punting yards. He redshirted his freshman season with the Oklahoma Sooners football team during his time at the University of Oklahoma. For the 2014 season, he led the NFL in gross punting average with 47.5 yards. At the start of the 2015 season, he was voted as the team's special teams captain. On March 4 and March 12, 2016, the team extended a tender to him and signed him to a five-year contract extension.
