Trent Williams, born July 19, 1988, is an American professional football offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest offensive tackles in NFL history, earning twelve Pro Bowl selections and five All-Pro honors. Williams played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and was chosen by the Washington Redskins with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. In 2019, he missed the entire season while holding out from the Redskins due to personal and contractual issues involving a serious health concern. As a senior in high school, he earned unanimous first-team all-district recognition for his performance. He committed to Oklahoma over offers from Louisiana State, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M, playing under coach Bob Stoops from 2006 to 2009. As a true freshman in 2006, he started at right tackle after a teammate’s injury and began the final six games of the season.
