Trenton Jamond Richardson, born on July 10, 1990, is an American former professional football player who played as a running back in the National Football League. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, earning unanimous All-American honors and winning two BCS National Championship titles. Selected third overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, Richardson was considered the top running back prospect and compared to Adrian Peterson in talent. As a senior at Escambia High School, he rushed for 2,100 yards on 228 carries and scored 25 touchdowns. In a 2008 game against Milton High School, he rushed for 419 yards on 29 carries and scored six touchdowns, earning ESPN RISE National Player of the Week. As a junior, he ran for 407 yards in his first game against Tate High School, surpassing the 400-yard mark. Richardson accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama, where he played for coach Nick Saban from 2009 to 2011.
