Tony Romo Biography

Antonio Ramiro Romo, born April 21, 1980, played 13 seasons in the NFL as a professional quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. He earned the Walter Payton Award in 2002 and was named OVC Player of the Year three times while playing college football for Eastern Illinois. Romo served as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback from 2006 to 2015, guiding the team to four postseason appearances and earning Pro Bowl honors each year. He holds multiple Cowboys team records, including most passing touchdowns, passing yards, games with 300 or more passing yards, and games with three or more touchdown passes. Romo played baseball as a youth and was selected to the Little League All-Star team during his childhood. He began his high school football career as quarterback for the Burlington High School Demons in 1996, starting as a junior. In 1997, Romo led the Demons to a 3–6 record, earning All-Racine County honors and first-team All-State recognition from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association.
