Constantino Tino Martinez, born on December 7, 1967, is an American former professional baseball player. He has played in Major League Baseball for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1990 through 2005. Martinez served as a hitting coach for the Miami Marlins in 2013. He was selected in the first round of the 1988 draft by the Seattle Mariners after playing college baseball at the University of Tampa. As of 2011, he still held school records for career home runs (54), career batting average (.399), and single season slugging percentage (.957). Since 2010, the Tino Martinez Award has been presented annually to the most outstanding NCAA Division II baseball player. In 2013, he was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
