Theodore Samuel Williams, born on August 30, 1918, served as an American professional baseball player and manager, active in Major League Baseball. He played primarily as a left fielder from 1939 to 1960, with his career interrupted by military service during World War II and the Korean War. Williams was a 19-time All-Star, earned two AL Most Valuable Player Awards, won six batting titles, and captured two Triple Crown honors.
