Taulia Tagovailoa Biography

Taulia Tagovailoa, born on February 15, 2000, is an American professional football quarterback. He has played college football for the Maryland Terrapins and the Alabama Crimson Tide. In 2019, he served as a backup quarterback at Alabama behind his older brother Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones. On September 21, 2019, he completed his first career pass for a 20-yard gain against Southern Miss, finishing 1-for-1. On May 15, 2020, he announced his transfer to the University of Maryland. In 2021, he returned to Maryland as the starting quarterback, playing in all 13 games and earning All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. He was named MVP of the 2021 Pinstripe Bowl, where he passed for 265 yards on 20-of-24 attempts and recorded two touchdowns, while also rushing for 42 yards on four carries in a 54-10 victory.
