T.J. Watt Biography

Trent Jordan Watt, born October 11, 1994, is an American professional football outside linebacker who has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League. Watt played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers over a four-year span. After choosing not to use his final year of college eligibility, he was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft. T.J. Watt reached 100 sacks in the second fastest time in NFL history, according to official records. Watt competed in track and field during high school and won the 2013 state title in the shot put. He began his college career at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2013, initially playing as a tight end for the Wisconsin Badgers. In July 2015, he transitioned to a defensive role at the request of head coach Paul Chryst during his redshirt sophomore year.
