Steve Borden, born on March 20, 1959, is an American retired professional wrestler who performs under the ring name Sting. He has made sporadic appearances in All Elite Wrestling since retiring from active competition. Borden is best known for his tenure in World Championship Wrestling from 1988 to 2001 and in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling from 2003 to 2014, as well as his final run in AEW from 2020 to 2024. He adopted monochromatic face paint in 1996, shifting from the multi-colored style of his earlier 'Surfer' persona to the 'Crow' gimmick. Borden began his career in 1985 as Flash in the independent promotion All-California Championship Wrestling, teaming with Jim Hellwig as part of the Power Team USA stable. His career in Jim Crockett Promotions and its successor WCW began in 1987, leading to his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship win in 1990. Sting officially retired after his match at Revolution on March 3, 2024, concluding his career undefeated in tag team competition and as a champion.
