Stan Musial, born November 21, 1920, in Donora, Pennsylvania, was an American professional baseball player known as Stan the Man. Musial played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily as an outfielder and first baseman, for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941 to 1944 and from 1946 to 1963. He played on the baseball team at Donora High School before beginning his professional career. The year following his debut, Musial led the National League in six offensive categories and won his first Most Valuable Player award. Musial won his second World Series title in 1944 and missed the 1945 season due to service in the Navy. Over the next decade, Musial won four batting titles and led the National League in multiple offensive categories including runs, doubles, and total bases. In 1967, Musial served as general manager for the St. Louis Cardinals after concluding his playing career.
