Shaquil Barrett Biography

Shaquil Akeem Barrett, born on November 17, 1992, is an American former professional football linebacker. Shaquil Barrett played his initial college football years at Nebraska–Omaha before continuing his career with the Colorado State Rams. Barrett was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL draft. In 2019, he earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors after leading the league in sacks, and he won Super Bowl LV in 2021 with a sack recorded during the game. Because he transferred from a school that had discontinued its football program, Barrett was eligible to play immediately without sitting out a year. Barrett played three seasons for Colorado State University during 2011–13. As a senior in 2013, Barrett was named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year after recording 12 sacks and 20.5 tackles for a loss.
