Seth Joyner Biography

Seth Joyner, born on November 18, 1964, was an American former professional football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League. He attended Spring Valley High School and played college football for the UTEP Miners. Joyner was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles in the eighth round with the 208th overall pick in the 1986 NFL draft. Although initially cut during training camp, he was later re-signed by the Eagles during the same season. His combination of strength and quickness enabled him to perform well across defensive statistical categories, leading to three Pro Bowl selections in 1991, 1993, and 1994. He was honored as NFL Player of the Year by Paul Zimmerman of Sports Illustrated during his tenure with the Eagles. Joyner played in Super Bowl XXXII as a member of the Green Bay Packers and won Super Bowl XXXIII the following year while playing for the Denver Broncos, which marked his final game in 1998.
