Saquon Barkley Biography

Saquon Barkley, born February 9, 1997, is an American professional football running back who has played in the National Football League. He played three seasons for the Penn State Nittany Lions and established multiple school records in offensive statistics before leaving early for the NFL. In 2017, Barkley earned 304 votes in Heisman Trophy voting and received multiple national and Big Ten honors. During his collegiate career, he set Penn State records for 5,538 all-purpose yards, 43 rushing touchdowns, and 1,157 receiving yards by a running back. Barkley was selected second overall by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL draft and earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. After the 2023 season, he signed with the Eagles and rushed for over 2,000 yards in his first season with the team. In 2014, he was named co-winner of the Mr. Pennsylvania Football award as the state’s top high school player.
