Santana Moss Biography

Santana Terrell Moss, born on June 1, 1979, was an American professional football player who played as a wide receiver in the National Football League for 14 seasons. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and earned consensus All-American honors during his tenure. Moss was selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft and spent four seasons with the team before joining the Washington Redskins. He was named an All-Pro in 2005 for his performance as a wide receiver. Moss received third-team all-state football honors after his senior high school season. He joined the Miami Hurricanes in 1997 as a walk-on and was awarded a scholarship after the team’s third game of the season. Moss was featured in the ESPN documentary The U, which premiered on December 12, 2009, discussing his time at the University of Miami.
