Samuel Jacob Bradford, born November 8, 1987, was an American professional football quarterback who played nine seasons in the National Football League. Bradford played football, basketball, and golf at Putnam City North High School. He received a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma despite limited recruitment coming out of high school. After redshirting in 2006, he passed for 3,121 yards and 36 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman for the Oklahoma Sooners. In 2008, he won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore, throwing for 4,720 yards and 50 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. Bradford entered the NFL draft after the 2009 season and was chosen first overall by the St. Louis Rams in 2010. Prior to the 2015 season, the Rams traded him to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for quarterback Nick Foles, a 2015 fourth-round pick, and a 2016 second-round pick.
