Roger Wehrli played his entire 14-year professional football career as a cornerback for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1969 to 1982. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Wehrli lettered in football, basketball, and track for King City High School in 1965 and helped the team win the state title in track that year. He made a decisive interception during the Gator Bowl to help Missouri defeat the University of Alabama 35–10 in an 8–3 season. Wehrli was honored as a charter member of the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 1990. He was inducted into the Cardinals Ring of Honor on October 14, 2007. An All-Rookie selection in 1969, Wehrli earned All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl berth in 1970.
