Robin Yount Biography

Robin R Yount, born September 16, 1955, was nicknamed the Kid and Rockin' Robin and played American professional baseball. Yount spent all 20 MLB seasons with Milwaukee, covering 1974–93, and worked at shortstop and center field. Yount was selected third overall in the June 1973 Major League Baseball draft, one pick ahead of Dave Winfield. He made his major league debut the following April at 18 years old. On September 14, 1975, just two days before his 20th birthday, Yount surpassed Mel Ott's 47-year-old record for major league games played before age 20. Yount was named an All-Star in 1980, 1982, and 1983. He led the American League with 210 hits in 1982.
