Randy White Biography

Randy White, born January 15, 1953, played as a defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL from 1975 to 1988. He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins from 1972 to 1974. White was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 1994. He was initially recruited by the University of Maryland and played as a fullback during his freshman year. Despite Maryland's loss in the Liberty Bowl, White earned the game's Most Valuable Player honor. In 1977, he transitioned to right defensive tackle, a role previously held by Bob Lilly from 1961 to 1974. White was named NFC Defensive Player of the Year in 1978 and earned nine consecutive All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections.
