Randall Wade Cunningham Sr. was born on March 27, 1963, and played 16 seasons as a professional football quarterback in the National Football League. Cunningham spent most of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and also played for the Minnesota Vikings. He played college football for the UNLV Rebels, earning first-team All-American honors as a punter and winning PCAA Offensive Player of the Year in 1983 and 1984. Cunningham lost his starting role during the 1999 season due to declining performance and was released afterward. After retiring for the second and final time, he became an ordained Protestant minister and served as the team chaplain for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2020 to 2022. He was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 1985 NFL Draft, becoming the first quarterback chosen that year.
