Rafael Nadal Biography

Rafael Nadal Parera, born on 3 June 1986, is a Spanish former professional tennis player. Nadal has won 92 ATP Tour singles titles, including 22 major championships and 36 Masters titles. He reached No. 2 in the world before turning 20 and won 16 titles during his teenage years, including his first major at the 2005 French Open. By defeating Djokovic in the 2010 US Open final, Nadal became the youngest man in the Open Era to complete a career Grand Slam at 24. At the 2022 Australian Open, Nadal surpassed his joint record with Djokovic and Federer for most Grand Slam men's singles titles. Nadal has won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award five times and was named Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2011 and 2021. He won the Spanish junior championships in 1997 and 1998, defeating Ricardo Villacorta and Marcel Granollers respectively.
