Priest Anthony Holmes, born October 7, 1973, played as a running back in the NFL for 11 seasons. He began his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens before joining the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in 2001. During his tenure with the Chiefs, Holmes earned three All-Pro honors, made three Pro Bowl appearances, and was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2002. Prior to his Chiefs tenure, Holmes won a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 1997, during their 2000 Super Bowl XXXV victory over the New York Giants. Holmes played college football for the Texas Longhorns, where he developed his skills as a standout running back. As a senior in 1991, he rushed for 2,061 yards and led his team to a runner-up finish in the state championship game, losing to Odessa Permian. He attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1996, playing under head coach John Mackovic throughout his collegiate career.
