Phil Mickelson Biography

Phil Mickelson, born on June 16, 1970, is an American professional golfer who has competed on multiple global tours. He has won 45 events on the PGA Tour, including major championships at the Masters in 2004, 2006, and 2010, the PGA Championship in 2005 and 2021, and the Open Championship in 2013. Mickelson is one of 17 players in golf history to have secured victories in at least three of the four major championships. In 2022, Phil Mickelson left the PGA Tour after 30 years to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour, becoming the first golfer to win three different majors while doing so. Mickelson graduated from University of San Diego High School in 1988, where he began his journey in competitive golf. He attended Arizona State University on a golf scholarship and earned three NCAA individual championships and three Haskins Awards between 1990 and 1992. Mickelson helped lead the Sun Devils to the NCAA team title in 1990, a key achievement in his collegiate golf career.
