Peter Edward Rose Sr. nicknamed Charlie Hustle was born on April 14, 1941, and passed away on September 30, 2024. Pete Rose played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1986, including his tenure with the Cincinnati Reds during the 1970s. Rose also played for the Philadelphia Phillies, winning a World Series title in 1980, and had a brief tenure with the Montreal Expos. He is MLB's all-time leader in hits with 4,256, games played with 3,562, at-bats with 14,053, singles with 3,215, and outs with 10,328. He earned two Gold Glove Awards as an outfielder in 1969 and 1970. In August 1989, Rose received permanent ineligibility from baseball due to allegations he bet on games while playing and managing for the Reds. Though small in stature, he secured the starting running back role on his high school football team through speed and agility.
