Pekka Rinne Biography

Pekka Päiviö Rinne, born on 3 November 1982, is a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender. Drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2004, Rinne became their starting goaltender during the 2008–09 season. Rinne holds the Nashville Predators franchise record for wins and shutouts and has been selected as an NHL All-Star four times. Rinne is one of only 17 NHL goaltenders to score a goal in either the regular season or the playoffs. Rinne made his debut in the SM-liiga with Oulun Kärpät during the 2002–03 season. During that same season, Kärpät won the SM-liiga championship and Rinne played two playoff games without allowing a goal. Rinne played two games with the Nashville Predators during the 2005–06 season.
