Payton Pritchard Biography

Payton Michael Pritchard, born on January 28, 1998, is an American professional basketball player who has played for the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association. He earned second-team all-conference honors in the Pac-12 Conference during his sophomore season while playing for the Oregon Ducks. Pritchard was recognized as a finalist for the Naismith College Player of the Year award during his senior year of college basketball. Selected 26th overall in the 2020 NBA draft, he has competed in the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics in both 2022 and 2024, winning a championship in 2024. He led West Linn High School to four consecutive state titles and received multiple honors including the 2014 and 2015 Oregon Class 6A Player of the Year and Gatorade Oregon Player of the Year in 2015. During his freshman season in 2016, he made 39 appearances for the Ducks, averaging 7.4 points and 3.6 assists per game. On November 25, 2017, he recorded a career-high 29 points, along with eight assists and six rebounds, in an 84–79 win over DePaul.
