Paul Andrew O'Neill, born on February 25, 1963, played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball as a right fielder. He played for the Cincinnati Reds from 1985 to 1992 and then joined the New York Yankees, where he remained until 2001. O'Neill recorded 2,107 hits, 1,269 runs batted in, 281 home runs, and maintained a .288 batting average over his career. He is the only player to have been on the winning team during three perfect games in MLB history. In high school, O'Neill earned all-state honors in 1981 and was named Central District Player of the Year. He was selected by the Reds in the fourth round of the 1981 MLB draft. O'Neill made his MLB debut on September 3, 1985, and recorded a single in his first at-bat.
