Paul Molitor Biography

Paul Molitor, born August 22, 1956, is an American former professional baseball player and manager known by the nicknames Mollie and the Ignitor. He has played for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1978 to 1992, the Toronto Blue Jays from 1993 to 1995, and the Minnesota Twins from 1996 to 1998. Molitor earned seven All-Star Game selections and was named World Series Most Valuable Player in 1993. He ranks tenth on the all-time MLB career hits list with 3,319 total hits. Molitor holds the best career postseason batting average in MLB history at .368, based on a minimum of 100 at-bats. On November 3, 2014, he was named the 13th manager of the Minnesota Twins. After his junior year in college, the Milwaukee Brewers drafted Molitor in the first round of the 1977 MLB draft with the third overall pick.
