Oswaldo Cabrera Biography

Oswaldo Alberto Cabrera, born on March 1, 1999, is a Venezuelan professional baseball player who has competed in Major League Baseball as a utility player for the New York Yankees. Cabrera signed with the Yankees as a free agent at the age of 16. Cabrera advanced from the Dominican Summer League to the Gulf Coast League and the Pulaski Yankees in the Rookie-level Appalachian League during 2016. After the 2020 season was canceled, Cabrera resumed play in 2021 with the Somerset Patriots of Double-A Northeast, where he led the league in hits and RBIs and earned the league's most valuable player award. The Yankees assigned Cabrera to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to begin the 2022 season. Cabrera was promoted to the major leagues on August 17, 2022, and made his debut that day as the starting third baseman. He began playing as an outfielder during the 2022 season.
