Orlando Pace Biography

Orlando Lamar Pace, born on November 4, 1975, played 13 seasons in the NFL as an offensive tackle, primarily with the St. Louis Rams. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and won the Lombardi Award in 1995 after helping block for Eddie George during his Heisman campaign. The subsequent season saw Pace claim the Outland Trophy, his second Lombardi Award, the Jim Parker Trophy, and UPI Lineman of the Year. Selected first overall in the 1997 NFL draft, he spent all but one season of his professional career with the Rams. During his 12 years with the Rams, he was a key part of an offensive line that supported an offense with the most gross yardage and second-highest completion percentage. Under his protection, the Rams passing offense recorded over 3,000 yards per season, and seven different quarterbacks reached 3,000 yards in a season. Pace played for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1994 to 1996 and majored in business during his college years.
