O.J. Simpson Biography

Orenthal James Simpson, nicknamed the Juice, was an American football player and media personality born on July 9, 1947, and passed away on April 10, 2024. He played in the National Football League for 11 seasons, spending nine of them with the Buffalo Bills. Simpson played college football for the USC Trojans and won the 1968 Heisman Trophy as a senior. He was selected first overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 1969 NFL/AFL draft. With the Bills, he received five consecutive Pro Bowl selections and first-team All-Pro honors from 1972 to 1976. Simpson became the first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a 14-game regular season, earning the 1973 NFL Most Valuable Player award. After retiring in 1979, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, having played for the San Francisco 49ers during his final season.
