Nick Saban Biography

Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. was born on October 31, 1951, and is an American football coach. He serves as an analyst for ESPN's College GameDay, a television program covering college football. As a college football head coach, Saban has won seven claimed national titles and one unclaimed national title. He coached the Alabama Crimson Tide to national championships in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2020, with an unclaimed title in 2016. Saban is one of only two coaches to win an SEC championship at two different schools, alongside Bear Bryant. He was inducted into the Independence Hall of Honor in 2008, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2013, and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2025. Saban earned a bachelor's degree in business from Kent State in 1973 and a master's degree in sports administration from the same university in 1975.
