Nick Castellanos Biography

Nicholas Alexander Castellanos, born on March 4, 1992, is an American professional baseball player who has played as a right fielder and third baseman. He has played in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Diego Padres. Castellanos was named the most valuable player in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game during his early career development. After the 2021 season, he opted out of his contract with the Reds and signed a five-year deal with the Phillies. During his time with the Phillies, he earned All-Star recognition in 2023. Castellanos was released by the Padres following the 2025 season, having signed with them after his tenure with Philadelphia. He represented the United States in the 2009 Pan American Junior Championships at age 18, batting .356 with 14 runs scored, six doubles, and nine RBIs as the team claimed gold.
