Nick Bosa, born October 23, 1997, is an American professional football defensive end who has played for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes before being selected second overall by the 49ers in the 2019 NFL draft. Bosa was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and contributed to his team's run to Super Bowl LIV. In 2022, he earned the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was a four-year starter and a multi-year first-team all-state player. On September 1, 2018, he recorded two sacks and a one-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in a 77–31 win against Oregon State. Bosa chose to skip his final year of college eligibility and pursue professional football by entering the 2019 NFL draft.
