Michael M. Rozier, born on March 1, 1961, played professional football as a running back in the USFL and NFL from 1985 to 1991. He earned the Heisman Trophy in 1983 while playing college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Rozier initially received little attention from major college programs before emerging as a standout player. During a high school game, a standout performance by Rozier caught the eye of a coach while watching Pennsauken’s match against Woodrow Wilson. As a sophomore in 1981, Rozier made a lasting impact with a 93-yard touchdown run against Kansas State. He gradually challenged Roger Craig for the starting role and secured it before his junior year in 1982. Rozier concluded the 1982 season as a consensus All-American and placed 10th in the Heisman voting.
