Mike Norvell Biography

Michael Norvell, born October 11, 1981, is an American college football coach. He has served as the head football coach at Florida State University since the 2020 season. At age 17, he began his coaching career as an assistant at Grace Prep in the early fall of 1999, shortly before turning 18. He walked on at Louisiana Tech in 2000 and later transferred to the University of Central Arkansas, where he played wide receiver from 2001 to 2005. During his senior year in 2005, he helped lead the UCA Bears to an 11–3 record, a Gulf South Conference title, and a quarterfinal appearance in the NCAA Division II playoffs. On December 4, 2015, he was named the 24th head football coach of the Memphis Tigers. At age 34, he became the youngest FBS head coach in the nation when he was hired, having previously served as a key offensive coordinator at Arizona State under Todd Graham.
