Mike Krzyzewski, born on February 13, 1947, is an American former college basketball coach widely known by his nickname Coach K. He served as head coach at Duke University from 1980 to 2022, leading the Blue Devils to 13 Final Four appearances and 15 ACC tournament championships. Krzyzewski is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time due to his sustained success and impact on the sport. He has also coached the United States national team, guiding it to gold medals in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games. Krzyzewski played as a point guard at Army from 1966 to 1969 under coach Bob Knight during his collegiate playing career. On November 15, 2011, he led Duke to a 74–69 victory over Michigan State at Madison Square Garden, becoming the coach with the most wins in NCAA Division I men's basketball history. On January 25, 2015, Duke defeated St. John's 77–68 at Madison Square Garden, marking Krzyzewski’s 1,000th win as a Division I men's basketball coach.
