Mike Hart Biography

Michael Lawrence Hart, born on February 17, 1958, is an American former Major League Baseball outfielder. He played parts of two seasons in the major leagues, first with the Minnesota Twins in 1984 and later with the Baltimore Orioles in 1987. Hart attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1979. During 1985, he played for the Twins' top farm team, the Toledo Mud Hens. In 1987, he returned to the majors with the Baltimore Orioles, serving as the starting center fielder for the final month and a half of the season. Although he hit his first four major league home runs, his batting average for the season was .158. Mike Hart's professional baseball career concluded when he was released by the Orioles at the end of the season.
