Mike Cameron Biography

Michael Terrance Cameron, born January 8, 1973, is an American former professional Major League Baseball outfielder. Mike Cameron played in Major League Baseball for seven teams during his 17-year career and served as a Special Assignment Coach for the Seattle Mariners. In 2002, Cameron became the 13th player to hit four home runs in a single game. He earned All-Star honors in 2001 and won Gold Gloves in 2001, 2003, and 2006. Cameron is one of 22 players in baseball history with at least 250 home runs and 250 stolen bases, becoming the 20th member of the 250/250 club. On December 23, 2003, he signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract to play center field for the New York Mets. With the Mets’ acquisition of Carlos Beltrán before the 2005 season, Cameron shifted to right field for most of that year.
